Josh continued:

I went to the Literacy Council because I was getting low grades on my language arts and spelling.

My tutor was Kathleen Tiedemann, and I studied language arts. We met 2 times a week.  I thought it was fun.  I liked the snacks and the treasure box.

I learned to break words into syllables and say them out loud.

I met with Miss Kathleen for 2 years, 3rd grade and 4th.  I got up to Level 6.  I can say bigger words by breaking them apart.

Thank you for helping kids like me.  I could barely read 50 page books.  Now I read 500 pages.  I have read over 3 million words so far this year and have 600 AR points.
